Thankfully for us, as more and more women are starting to experiment with colors and nudes, cosmetic companies, even the drugstore and more affordable ones, are churning out beautiful shades are options to choose from.

Review :

I picked up three shades from the Mesmerising range , which is super affordable and which I love for three main reasons (which I’ll get to later in this post).

The shades I picked are Burning Desire, Nude Brown and Red Earth.

Nude Brown –

This is my favorite pick of the three. It is the perfect nude brown for deeper complexions and looks great on everyone else as well. It is very similar to MAC Taupe in terms of the shade, I can bravely say this could work as a dupe. Don’t expect the same coverage or color payoff as Taupe though !

Red Earth –

This one is a slightly deeper nude with warmer tones than Nude Brown, if your skin is more yellow – undertoned, Red Earth might work better for you than Nude Brown. Also, Red Earth could work on skintones where Nude Brown looks a little washed out. Other than that, both are pretty similar shades.

Burning Desire –

I hardly buy lipsticks without reaching out for some sort of red so I couldn’t help but pick up Burning Desire. It is a bold, almost russian red in the tube but shows up more maroon-ey when applied. It isn’t one of the best reds I’ve come across , but it’s a very wearable shade if you’re looking for a bold color with a bit of a sheen.

Coloressence has done well with this range of lipsticks. Here’s my top 3 pros :

  • They’re super affordable and come in many pretty colors so you can stock up on your favorites for way lesser than you normally would.
  • Most drugstore brands don’t offer classic “nude” lip shades but Coloressence has actually offered some very wearable nudes for desi skin
  • These lipsticks actually volumize your lips, true to their claims. I find my lips actually looking and feeling more plump after application

The only downside of this product is that it doesn’t last very long, unless worn over a liner. The pigmentation is pretty good but if you have pigmented or stained lips, you might need multiple swatches. All in all though, a very good budget buy that you won’t regret.
