I am beyond excited to see the latest offering from Urban Decay. I’m already obsessed with the Naked eye shadow palettes, but now the brand has released the latest additions to its Naked Skin range Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation’ and Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer’!!!
I swear to you I can’t believe how many foundations are being released this year by cosmetic giants and I’m so happy to see Urban Decay be one of them! First things first, let’s talk foundation. The foundation promises amazing long-lasting coverage and works both wet and dry. Said to last eight hours, the formula is weightless and buildable with a luminous yet demi-matte finish.
Unlike other powder foundations, once applied, it gives a velvety and almost creamy touch. The foundation makes you look retouched as it blurs lines and wrinkles. It comes in 14 shades and no matter how much or little you apply, the brand swears all you’ll see is beautiful’.
Personally, I haven’t tried this yet but am dying to give it a go considering I love the idea of powder foundation (especially on the go). What I’d like to add is that unlike other brands, the colors are great as you are presented with the options of cool, warm and neutral tones of pretty much each shade. If that doesn’t make life easier when selecting a color I don’t know what is!
Okay, now concealers. I’m quite loyal to my Nars Creamy Concealer’, but you can never have too many if I’m honest. Just like the foundation, the formula proves to be weightless and gives perfect coverage almost like a second skin. What I love about the formula is that it is packed with skin-improving ingredients. Good coverage and good for your skin?! Umm, yes please!
Anti-wrinkle peptides come in the Matrixyl 3000 ingredient proven to improve the skin’s elasticity and over all youthful appearance. Another ingredient boasting revitalization and aid in the reduction of fine lines is the Japanese green tea. Another ingredient, LitchidermTM, protects against dehydration. The lychee fruit derivative gives results in a brighter and more radiant complexion.
I don’t know if I really need to convince anyone with this product. I use concealers for my under eyes and since the skin is already pretty sensitive I can’t afford to cake my concealer without it emphasising my lines and somewhat making the skin look older than it is. I already swear by the Urban Decay Anti-Ageing Eyeshadow Primer’ because it creates that barrier I need so the concealer isn’t too heavy and somewhat damaging the skin (they already say you should avoid thick formulas around the eye area, but any makeup loving girl knows that commandment!).
Nonetheless, the concealer isn’t thick and has active ingredients that promise to improve the quality of your skin. Considering L’Oreal is behind this giant, I firmly believe that it is worth a try.
