Must Have Kylie Jenner-ish Fall Lipsticks for Desis

Nothing feels better then change! You can change up your look drastically believe it or not with a new lipstick. Wearing a new lipstick can make you feel revitalized and give you a new boost of confidence. Fall is my favorite season of the year and this year it’s all about the brown lip. Everyone is going crazy for this new trend and what I love about it most is that it’s different! I don’t know about you but I’m tired of reds, peaches and regular pinks. I swear I feel like a new person when I pop on a brown lippy. Pair it with a brown smoky eye or a winged out eyeliner and bronzer is a good idea to add some color to the face and balance out the brown tone of the lip. Brown lips are sexy & modern and stands out from the crowd. It gives a kind of ‘bad girl’ look, that I LOVE. If you’ve never worn brown, there’s no better time then now…its Fall :). I’m so glad its coming back from the 90’s and the fact that young girls today are rocking it.

Other then brown I also love mauve’s and vampy shades for Fall. These tones look more rich and to me much more flattering in matte finishes as compared to glossy or creamy. Here is a list of my new fall lip obsessions.

Kat Von D Lolita

I’ve heard about this color forever, and I finalllly got my hands on it. Popularized by instagram beauty guru Amrezy, this color is GORGEOUS. It’s a very unique color, I wore it to a party last week and some girls took a double take at me :). It’s bold but in a soft way on lighter skin tones. On deeper skin tones it would look like a great neutral tone lip color. Kat Von D liquid lipsticks are a great texture (just check out the reviews on, almost creamy/foamy and dry to a comfortable long lasting matte that’not drying at all. Really great color for fall.

Stila – Patina

OMG super duper obsessed with this color, its gorgeous!!! This was my first experience with Stila Liquid Matte lip colors and I’d have to say its my favorite formula. Liquid lipsticks can get tricky, some are too watery, drying or get on your teeth. Stila’s liquid lipsticks are creamy and dry to the most comfortable long lasting lip color. I want to get more colors, and I didn’t even know that Stila liquid lipsticks have been around for over 5 years!! Great color for anytime of the day and it will suit most skin tones.

MAC – Taupe

I remember Taupe being popular when I was just starting grade school, my mother used to wear it. It’s such a popular color now, that literally it sells out every time it’s back in stock at MAC. It’s a classic matte color in a flattering brown tone. Often labelled as the brown Kylie Jenner wears its a must try and must own.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Sad Girl

Sad Girl is a unique color, which I have not seen from another brand. What makes it unique is it’s gorgeous vampy plum tone but it has some texture in it. I thought it would be too dark for me when I initally wore it, but I felt like a million bucks and got tons of compliments. I prefer this over red as a statement lip these days. Anastasia’s liquid lipsticks are one of the best formulas, creamy and dries to a matte.
Gerard Cosmetics – Serenity

This color was made in collaboration with @mannymua and was worn by Kylie Jenner. Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipsticks are the most hydrating i’ve tried so far. Only thing about them is the color is not as pigmented as others but its still nice.

Limecrime – Salem

Salem is a true brown, deeper in tone then the other brown colors I’ve suggested. It’s a great shade for medium to dark skin tones, on light skin tone I feel its a bit too brown, but check it out its a gorgeous color. Limecrime liquid lipsticks are a good formula, not too thick and come on the lips bold and pigmented. They can be a bit drying tho, so I’d suggest putting on a lip balm and them dabbing it off before you apply the liquid lipstick.

Bobbi Brown – Rose Brown

Bobbi Brown Art Sticks which were launched I believe 2 years back are great! They are like a hybrid lipliner+lipstick and give a beautiful matte lip. Rose Brown is exactly how the name suggests, a pinky with a touch of brown. A good everyday lip color particularly in Fall. I love wearing it alone or under and even on top of my other lipsticks.

Limecrime – Faded

Faded is a tone I think I was missing in my collection. It’s a mauvy pink but in the right proportions – not too pink and not too mauvy if that makes sense. In comparison to Serentity which I listed above this is similar but more mauve.
