In scientific terms, an antioxidant is a molecule that’s capable of inhibiting the oxidation of other molecules. For us, non-scientists, they fight free radicals (free radicals damage and cause the death of cells).These free radical fighting antioxidants help you look younger by slowing down the aging process, help prevent cancer, heart disease and several other degenerative diseases.
Blackberries
No, I don’t mean the big black phone you’re holding. One cup of blackberries contains the highest amount of antioxidants that berries have. Plus, a cup of blackberries provides half of your daily recommended intake of vitamin C!
Strawberries
It’s bursting with fibers and vitamin C (more than enough of your daily recommended intake), a cup of strawberries is literally brimming with healthy benefits.
Coffee
Coffee doesn’t only keep us alert, it reduces the risks of diabetes & Parkinson’s disease. It also stimulates enzymes that protect us against colon cancer and obviously contains a lot of antioxidants!
Walnuts
One ounce of walnuts (around 15-20 of them) are looooaded with antioxidants. They’re free of cholesterol and low in sodium and sugar. Nuts are full of calories, though, so don’t get too carried away!
